I agree with most of your assessments, though like you I am a little biased because I have always been a great fan of Acronis.
My one disagreement is that I find the new ‘Vista-like’ interface a significant improvement. I always thought the previous interface a little messy but this one if far more logical.
Wow this ran really slow on my PC!! Took for ever to scan each HD each time I opened the program. I simply had to uninstall. This is a shame as I have used Acronis in earlier versions for many years. Don’t know where to look now for a decent back up program!

Weel, I’ve had no real problems with TI 11 except for some reason it hasn’t been properly deleting over number limit back-ups, but having just upgraded to TI 2009 (build 9615, not the beta) the program has been crashing continually (I’m on Vista and get the dreaded white window and then an announcement that the program has stopped working, etc.). Strangely, this happens even if I just open TI and do nothing! Usually takes around 60 sec or so.
I’m persevering but this is a heads up. I anyone has a solution that would be welcome…
Gav & Tony,
Sorry to see you are having problems. I do not know the cause of your issues but other folks are having issues too.
I would check out the forums: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=64
This s/w is fast, glitch free and works perfectly on my ‘Vista Home Premium’ PC (specs as previously advised). Very impressed with ‘Macrium Reflect’ which can be downloaded as a fully functional but time limited demo. Give it a try!
I use True Image 2009 for all my OS backups and Disk Director 10.0 for all my partitioning and dual-boot requirements. TweakHound readers get a 10% discount off Acronis Products.
