How To Use Driver Rollback In Windows XP

This article is part of Windows XP Backup Strategies For Home Users

A very useful feature of XP is it's ability to recover a previous driver. Say the install went bad, or you just don't like the results. Rolling back a driver is very easy.

Open Device Manager

Press the Windows  + Pause Break keys > click on the Hardware tab

Next click on Device Manager and then expand the section your device is in by clicking on the + sign next to it.

Double-click on the device, I'll be using my network card as an example.

In the resulting screen click on the Driver tab > and then click the Roll Back Driver button.

The usual "are you sure you idiot" screen from Microsoft will pop up. Click Yes.

The resulting screen should show the change.

You're done!
