Backing Up Data With Norton Save & Restore

In addition to making disk or partition images Norton Save & Restore can make images of data files. These can include folders, music, pictures, application data, etc.

 

Backup

Open the program and click Back Up Now.

 

Click on Define New Backup

 

Select Back Up Only Selected Files and Folders and click Next.

 

Unselect all that garbage and click Add Folder

 

Browse to the folder of your choice, select the type of files if you like and click OK.

 

Name your backup and browse to the drive you want to store the image on then click Next.

 

Schedule your backup nor don't, then click Next.

 

f everything looks right click Finish.

To run the backup now click the box next to Run backup now.

 

 

 

 

 

Recovery

There are 2 ways to do this:

 

The hard way...

On the program. click on Recovery and then Recover My Files

 

Choose the backup you wish to restore and click Explore

 

Yep, that is the one, click OK.

 

...Or The Easy Way

Right-click on an image and click Mount

 

 

Both options leave you with a "new drive" on your computer to copy & paste from. Just open My Computer to see it.
