2. Alternate Method*

Start in SAFE MODE. Right click on the folder or file. Choose PROPERTIES. You get the following screen:

Click the SECURITY tab. You get the following screen:

You can edit from here or click ADVANCED. You get the following screen:

ADD or EDIT permissions. Click on EFFECTIVE PERMISSIONS tab to see the actual permissions of the object.
