Installing Suse Pro 9.3 (page 3)

 

Once the software is installed you'll be asked for the "Root" password. This is important. Root is administrator, we don't run under Root in Linux, it is one of the many reasons Linux is more secure than Windows.

 

 

Next you can make any changes to the Network Configuration. It's usually best to leave this be.

 

 

If you are connected to the net Suse will test the connection and then ask if you want to get any available updates. Just keep clicking "Next" or "OK".

 

 

 

 

 

Here you'll see the various updates available. If there seems like there are a lot it is because, unlike Windows, Suse will update all the apps not just the OS!

 

 

Important! If you want MP3 playback and other Multimedia functions scroll down to the bottom and choose the Multimedia packs. It is also a good idea to install the "Microsoft TrueType Core Fonts" and any applicable hardware drivers/firmware.

 

 

Suse will download and install the updates.

 

 

Then it will apply the updates.
