Win10 Reviews Roundup

July 29, 2015, 15:55(EDT) By Eric (a.k.a. TweakHound)

win10_logon_logoLots of “writers” and regular folks voicing their opinions on Win10. Here are a bunch I came across…

My Favorite
El Reg – Windows 10: A SYSADMIN speaks his brains – and says MEH
“For all my griping, Windows 10 is kinda not bad…It’s definitely a step up from Windows 8. But if you have Windows 7 there’s no sane reason to move to Windows 10…”

From the Windows “Writers” / “Journalists”

The Verge (Tom Warren) – Windows 10 review, The future is bright
“Windows 10 is a great fix to the problems of Windows 8, and that’s exactly what we all expected…Assuming Microsoft can kill the bugs in this initial release, it’s going to make computers better for billions of people.”

From An Apple Fanboi
Windows 10 Review: Microsoft Takes a Step Back to Move Forward
“I regard Windows 10 as a solid, evolutionary operating system that’s likely to be a good bet for people who like Windows.”

From The Tech Press
Wired – Review: Windows 10, New And Old
Quote from the very first paragraph:
“Before we go any further, let’s get this out of the way: You should upgrade to Windows 10. If you’re using Windows 8, 7, XP, ME, or 3.1, you should upgrade. Maybe wait a couple of weeks for the biggest bugs to be squashed, but do it. Why wouldn’t you? It’s free, it’s easy, and it’s a huge improvement on whatever version you’re using.”

Cnet – Microsoft Windows 10 review: Microsoft gets it right
“Windows 10 delivers a refined, vastly improved vision for the future of computing with an operating system that’s equally at home on tablets and traditional PCs — and it’s a free upgrade for most users.”

ARS Technica – Review: Windows 10 is the best version yet—once the bugs get fixed
“Windows 10 is the best Windows yet. I think almost everyone upgrading from both Windows 7 and Windows 8 will be upgrading to a better operating system that is less annoying and more effective.”

From the non-tech press:
This segment of alleged reporters/journalists is absolutely dominated by Apple fanbois.
Seriously, usually they are so biased it’s downright shameful. This time around I only came across one such example. Are things changing?
Wall Street Journal – Windows 10 Review: A Welcome Upgrade, Perhaps Too Late
There is nothing quotable or worth reading in this article.
