I haven’t watched any of this seasons Mr. Robot and they are stacking up in the DVR. Time for some binge watching. Speaking of which, if you Netflix and you haven’t caught it yet, Stranger Things is awesome.

Being a member of a Windows 10 forum, it seems to be that the largest amount of problems have come from people upgrading from Windows 7. If they did a clean install after the upgrade, it would be so much better for them.
Personally I’m happy with the update.

My Win update is on manual. I’ll just wait until Win 10 Aug. update mess has been sorted out. My V 1511 (OS Build 10586.494) is stable and working great.
TIP: Before you do decide to update, create a full backup using your favourite backup program. Creating a restore point might not be good enough.

I am uncertain about what is the actual version for Win10 anniv. update?
I just successfully installed Version 1607 Build 14393.67. But of course, for over a week I had a big problem since the update was telling me “windows 10 couldn’t be installed. You can’t install windows on a USB flash drive from setup”. Funny, I did not have this message with any previous updates.
Looking around the Web, the solution was to make change in Regedit.

“Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
Change the value PortableOperatingSystem to “0” from “1” or from “1” to “0” Whichever applies.
Reboot and install Windows 10.”
Since my bit was already set to “1”, I changed it to “0” and the upgrade proceeded without a problem.

Microsoft Ships Fourth Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607
Posted on August 9, 2016 by Paul Thurrott in Windows
Today, Microsoft issued its fourth cumulative update for Windows 10 version 1607. As has been the case recently, there’s no information about what’s been fixed in this update yet.
UPDATE: We have the info. See below.
This update increments the build number to 14393.51 from 14393.10.
Microsoft will eventually clue us in on this support page. For now, all I can do is recount the history of cumulative updates for Windows 10 version 1607. Which is pretty lengthy given that this release has only been available for a week so far.
