March 5, 2018—KB4090913 (OS Build 16299.251)
“This update includes quality improvements. No new operating system features are being introduced in this update…Addresses an issue in which some USB devices and onboard devices, such as a built-in laptop camera, keyboard, or mouse, stop working.”
This update is a cumulative update. That means it will apply the Meltdown/Spectre patch from past months.
My “Review” Of Star Trek: Discovery
I finally got to see Star Trek: Discovery. I opted for a 7 day free trial of CBS All Access. I managed to make it through 4 episodes before I just couldn’t take it anymore.

Weekend Random Stuff…
Uh…Shouldn’t you start with humans?
Paul Allen Wants to Teach Machines Common Sense. Good luck with that. Most people I come across lack it.
American Made Jeans?
Reading about talk of trade war and one of the things the EU said they were gonna target was bluejeans. I thought, “We still make bluejeans here?” I’ve always worn Levi’s because they’re cheap, they fit, I’m simple, and I have no fashion sense (don’t want any either). Levi’s haven’t been made in the U.S.A. in a long time. A Google search turned up this:
American Made Denim: The Ultimate Source List
The EU also said they were gonna target bourbon. Good, more for me!

Another “study” that didn’t need to be done: Uptempo music helps people to keep exercising for longer
Is there someone out there that didn’t know this to be true?

Cicerone Certified Beer Server
This is how I studied for and passed the Cicerone Certified Beer Server exam. I am not “in the industry”, I’m just a Geek who loves craft beer. My goal was to actually learn and not only study to the exam itself. Toward that end, if all you want to do is pass the exam then much of the info below will most likely be overkill for you.
Google Clips And Privacy
Why? Why would you let Google Clips into your life?
It sits there. Watching. Capturing. Everything. IN YOUR HOME.
Navneet Alang at The Week has a fantastic opinion piece:
The disturbing acceptance of Google’s new ‘smart’ camera
“we are unwittingly become guinea pigs for tech, and inadvertent cheerleaders for things that, in the aggregate, end up making things worse…Why is capturing more and more candid images good?…Not helping matters is that the tech press is forever breathless about new tech, obediently accepting its makers’ framing…Indeed the world is overrun with new technologies carrying unintended negative effects.”
