A warning about this version of CCleaner.
New to this version is the ability to clean entries from the Windows Event Log. For the average user there is nothing to be gained from this. Indeed the event log serves an important purpose in diagnosing PC problems. In addition it doesn’t clear everything (I tested it).
Advanced users – If you want to clear a vast majority of event logs below is a batch file for Windows 7 (works for Windows 8 too). I did not create it and do not remember where I got it so credit/blame isn’t mine.

I’m going to change that policy beginning today. The reason is simple. Most of y’all are running CCleaner and I’ve yet to see it try to install the bloatware on an upgrade. I will however post a warning about paying attention during install.
