Martin at Ghacks is using a site called Patreon to recover revenue lost to adblockers. Folks can donate a specified amount per month. As a reward type thing, Martin gives patrons registered user status which, among other things, gives them ad free viewing. I’m considering this and as would use it to bring back the comment system for registered users only (and only as long as your registered). It’s just a thought at this point.

Samsung Magician 4.6 Released, Sort Of
I mentioned last week that v4.6 had somehow found it’s way to the internet. It now appears on their download page. But…
The update shows but when I try and download I get an error page:

We apologize for your inconvenience
Please try again within 24 hours

From April 23-April 27, 2015, there is a daily limit on the number of Magician 4.6 downloads.
Unfortunately, the download limit for the day has been reached, please try again within 24 hours.
We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused you. Thank you.

What is this, amateur hour at Samsung?
I’ve also noticed that the Samsung EVO Performance Restoration Software has disappeared (as of this writing). I suspect an update is forthcoming.

Major Geeks has had the download since the same day I had mentioned it (April 14th).
*I have no way to tell if the version that appeared on the internet last week is the actual final version until I get the download straight from Samsung.
*edit – I finally got through to the official download. The files that hit the internet last week are the same as this one.

I was watching Windows Weekly and Mary Jo says her sources say the July release date is correct.
However her, Paul, and Leo were debating what “release” means.

Win10 In July?

April 20, 2015, 07:26(EDT) By Eric (a.k.a. TweakHound)

win8logo

win8logoNeowin is reporting that the AMD CEO said something like that:
“According to AMD’s CEO Microsoft is looking to launch Windows 10 at the end of July.
The AMD exec was speaking on a recent financial conference call when she let slip the fact that Microsoft was looking to get the OS out in time for the “back to school” promotions.
”
Source: Neowin

I’m highly skeptical that MS could pull this off. IMHO Win10 thus far has been buggy.
Sounds to me like an exec trying to tell investors that happy days are right around the corner.
Still, it is interesting.
