Before and during Hurricane Florence several of you checked in on me to see if I was OK. It truly meant a lot to me. I’m in Virginia and early on they said the coast was going to get hit. It never did but the aftermath brought several Tornadoes to Central Virginia Monday, one touched down about 3 miles away. Everything was OK at my house.
What I’m Doing To Lose Weight
Last weekend I said, “I’ve gone from +237 lbs to 216 in the last few months. Shooting for 200.“. 2 readers asked about what I was doing to lose weight. FWIW, here it is.
In a nutshell, eat (and drink) less and exercise more. My goal is to lose at least some weight during the week and stay the same weight over the weekend. For the most part I am still eating what I did before just less of it. No french fries! I’m never hungry in the morning but I eat a 100 calorie bowl of oatmeal from Better Oats for breakfast to keep my metabolism up. I also put some protein powder in my coffee. I hit the gym as much as time allows, sometimes 3 times a week, sometimes as much as 6. I lift weights, muscle burns more calories than fat. I do cardio. Time and weather permitting I ride my bike. Otherwise I do the treadmill at the gym.
I do a small lunch and it ranges from leftovers, to a sandwich or burger (no sides), to some sort of salad.
After the gym I will do a protein shake from Muscle Milk, 160 calories and 25 grams of protein.
I have a normal dinner and eat until full but no more.
That’s about it.
