Gotta love my Chromebook Eric. I paid $299 for it (a Lenovo) and its got a 14″ display. Not a bad price for where I live. Now here’s the but: As soon as I logon, Google slaps a huge ad across the top 3″, then another one down the right side occupying about 30% of the right edge of the display. After all is said and done, the remaining ‘work’ area remaining for the poor user (me), is about 5″ x 6″ in all. Just like the screen on the IBM 5110 that I programmed in 1978 (no ads then as that machine didn’t have a Comm port). So yes, by all means, purchase a Chromebook for your portability needs. Just don’t be suprised when it tries to sell you something like place-mat doilys that you don’t need. John Von Neumann must be rolling in his grave.
