Fix KB3000850 Will Not Install

I had a couple of Windows 8.1 computers that would not install KB3000850.
KB3000850 is also called “The November 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2.”
The specific error code was 80070002.

The Windows error logs directed me to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. There I found complaints about system files.
The cure for that is:
From an ELEVATED command prompt [Command Prompt (Admin) ] > type sfc /scannow and press the Enter key >
Let it do its thing > Reboot and install your update.

Microsoft Security Bulletin Advance Notification for November 2014
Out-of-band security update available for all supported versions of Windows.
Windows 8.1 users, be sure to check the optional updates.
KB3000850 “resolves issues in Windows” is available.

Because 7 8 9

Windows 10.
Yep, that’s the name of the next Windows version. When asked why “Windows 10”, Microsoft’s Terry Myerson said, “Because 7 8 9”.
I was keeping up with the Windows 10 announcement event via Tom Warren at The Verge, and Paul Thurrott & Mary Jo Foley’s Twitter feeds.
My notes:
1 – You can get the very rough and very unfinished Enterprise preview tomorrow.
2 – Release sometime after April 2015.
3 – No word on cost or free upgrades.
4 – Sounds…better than Windows 8/8.1.
