Got any good openSUSE links?

For those who read my openSUSE article, I solved my ATI driver problem the old-fashioned way. I ripped it out and put in an Nvida 7600GS!

Hacking openSUSE 10.3

October 9, 2007, 13:45(EDT) By Eric (a.k.a. TweakHound)

Novell’s openSUSE 10.3 is an exciting desktop operating environment that includes or supports nearly every program you need for work and play. But there are those last few programs and issues that make openSUSE just short of perfect. Web browser plugins for some kinds of online content; Windows Media and DVD movie playback support; and drivers for Atheros wireless devices and Nvidia and ATI video cards are the chief things holding openSUSE back for some users. This guide will help you remove as many of those barriers as possible.

I Just Installed openSUSE 10.3

October 3, 2007, 17:16(EDT) By Eric (a.k.a. TweakHound)

Although not officially released the “Gold Master” is available via torrent. Installed without a hitch. The only problem I’ve had thus far is trying to install the 3D ATI driver, it just will not work.

There is an EXCELLENT post here:

That’s it for today. It’s my birthday, and, there will be alcohol involved…

What backup program(s) do you use?

August 23, 2007, 12:19(EDT) By Eric (a.k.a. TweakHound)

I need your help. I’m working on a revision to my XP backup article, a version for Vista, and a version for Linux.

– What program(s) to you use for backups?

– Where do you backup? (another drive, CD/DVD, external hard drive, another computer…)

Please take a moment to reply by posting a comment. Thanks 🙂
